Job Description

This role involves conducting a wide range of testing and analysis on base and precious metal ores, industrial minerals and materials in a laboratory or pilot plant setting.

  • Apply technical expertise to perform moderate technological functions, utilizing an applied approach within laboratory operations.
  • Design, develop, test, install and operate equipment and systems to optimize processes.
  • Conduct applied research and experimental testing to inform process improvements.
  • Analyze data, compile results and prepare comprehensive reports to stakeholders.
  • Receive, inspect, sort and label client samples with attention to detail.
  • Sort, crush, pulverize, split and screen samples for further analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment or components to minimize downtime.
  • Calibrate and set up equipment prior to analysis to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary education (three-year diploma) in a Science related program (Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering Technology, etc.).
  • A minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of metallurgical principles.
  • Good hand/eye coordination when handling samples and various equipment.
  • The ability to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Proficiency in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Effective time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • The capacity to work well under pressure during high workloads and balance conflicting demands.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a comprehensive health and dental plan, retirement savings plan and opportunities for professional development.
