Job Summary:

First Student Canada-Transco is seeking a highly skilled Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students and passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all routes and scheduling of buses to ensure timely and reliable service.
  • Counsel and coach drivers and monitors to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Handle heavy phone and radio traffic to communicate with drivers, monitors, and other stakeholders.
  • Take all scheduling and driver complaints, reporting to Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager.
  • Serve as primary communication liaison with major contracted customers.
  • May handle charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll.
  • Provide solutions to drop-off and pick-up problems.
  • Handle back-up driver duties or perform miscellaneous clerical duties as needed.
  • Complete assignment of special projects.
  • Assist with supervision of day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to deliver under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or driver experience.
  • Computer literate.
  • Subject to Background check.
