Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Northern Health Region. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a hospital setting, including assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. You will also be responsible for supervising licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff, as well as participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities:- Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions and develop and implement care plans to meet their needs.
- Provide nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and providing emotional support.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff to ensure that patient care is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in nursing care.
- Current registration with the provincial or territorial nursing regulatory body.
- Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
- Intravenous (IV) therapy Certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
