Job Title: Casual Education Assistant

Job Summary:

Northern Gateway Public Schools is seeking a Casual Education Assistant to provide support to students in an inclusive setting. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers and other educational assistants to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students in an inclusive setting, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Follow the direction of the classroom Teacher, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning process.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school, promoting a culture of mutual respect and open communication.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written direction, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Work independently with minimal instruction, taking initiative and demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills, ensuring clear and concise communication with students, staff, and parents.
  • Respect confidentiality, maintaining the trust and confidence of students, staff, and parents.
  • Practice professionalism with all students, staff, administration, parents, and public, upholding the highest standards of behavior and conduct.
  • Aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Have experience working with young children, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs and developmental stages.
  • Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process, recognizing the importance of effective instruction and assessment.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and patience, creating a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment, valuing the contributions and perspectives of colleagues.
