Job Title: Electrical Engineer/Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our Product Development team at the Toronto Design Centre. In this role, you will support Principal or Senior Level Engineers/Designers or lead Power Supply development projects or sub-projects of small to medium complexity from kickoff through to manufacturing introduction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the technical integrity of the design, receiving complex design guidance or approaches from Principal or Senior level engineers.
  • Interface with customers to communicate technical information and supervise the work of technologists working on the project.
  • Implement microcontroller firmware and hardware for power management/control functions in power supplies, designing circuits and performing tests and evaluations for design verification & integrity.
  • Keep up-to-date with innovations and trends in Power Electronics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high frequency power supply design, including experience with switching power supplies AC/DC, DC/DC with various topologies and knowledge in resonant converter such as LLC, LCC converters.
  • Experience with Wide band Gap devices like SiC and GaN devices and their application in power electronics circuits.
  • Experience in design and optimization of magnetic components like transformers and Inductors for power electronics.
  • Experience in Analog circuit design and Control theory Techniques, Z-transformation, and digital control systems for power electronics application.
  • Experience with the use of MATLAB, MathCAD, and PSPice simulation tools.
  • Experience in designing systems to meet product safety and EMC requirements.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Work Environment:

This position is an on-site role, with one flex day per week of remote work.
