The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the growth of our product. As a key member of our team, you will work on building high-performance backend systems and infrastructure using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test features for our high-performance backend systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with a Product Manager, Designer, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
  • Contribute to improving product effectiveness, team velocity, and continuous deployment capabilities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and overcome obstacles.
  • Assist in troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record of building high-quality, event-driven backends.
  • Expertise in building cloud-based backend applications with a microservices architecture.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in diagnosing and resolving issues and performance bottlenecks in event-driven, microservices-oriented backends.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing high-quality Python code.
