Anesthesia Assistant Role

Humber River Health is seeking an experienced Anesthesia Assistant to join our Surgical Program team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical and clinical support to our patients and the surgical team, ensuring a high level of care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice in accordance with the standards of practice and guidelines as outlined by the Canadian Anaesthesiologists Society of Canada (CAS)
  • Work within a client and family centered care model and the vision and values of Humber River Health
  • Provide technical support and clinical assistance with induction, maintenance and recovery phases of anesthesia
  • Assist the Anaesthesiologist in developing and implementing the anesthesia care plan
  • Monitor physiological responses of patients to the induction of anesthesia during surgery

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized Anesthesia Assistant Program required
  • Registered member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) or the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required
  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related field required, Masters preferred
  • Current certification for Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) required
  • Current certification in BCLS and ACLS required
