Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Buyer to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the complete buying process, working closely with production, manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering to ensure optimum quality, pricing, and delivery of components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a large commodity of fasteners (approximately 1,000-1,500 SKUs)
  • Communicate and make decisions with the engineering team regarding deviations, specification changes, plating, and raw materials
  • Communicate with vendors and negotiate contracts
  • Prepare and analyze RFx documents
  • Order and follow up on parts for production
  • Manage contracts, including the supplier requirement manual, development agreement, letter of intent, and limits of liability
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in supply chain management or a related field
  • Experience working with a large number of SKUs
  • Minimum of 2 years of sourcing and purchasing experience
  • Technical background, including the ability to read drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience with metal plating is an asset
  • Well-organized and task-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-changing environment
  • Experience with RFx and analyzing vendor offers
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Contract management experience, including international contracts
  • Ability to make quick decisions and multitask multiple jobs
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes) and ERP systems
  • Understanding of KANBAN
