Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Jass Rai Construction Ltd. This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will work with us in various locations, applying their expertise to ensure high-quality drywall installations.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 based on industry standards and market rates.

Responsibilities
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster to create a seamless finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, ensuring durability and longevity
  • Familiarize yourself with the company's procedures for filling joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles, creating decorative designs in the finish coat as required
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets accurately, meeting project specifications
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring stability and safety
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, maintaining a clean and efficient workflow
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, achieving a watertight seal
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets, following strict safety protocols
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, adhering to industry standards
  • Estimate costs and materials, providing accurate quotes and supporting the project budget
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, demonstrating confidence and physical ability
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms, ensuring safe access and working conditions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, applying knowledge of construction principles and regulations
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation
