Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician to join our team at Bayview Trucks - Bathurst. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and Diagnosis: Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems, and suspension systems.
  • Parts Identification: Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
  • Warranty and Documentation: Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
  • Vehicle Testing: Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
  • Technical Reporting: Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • After-Hours Service: Be available to work covering the after-hours service call for emergencies.
  • Teamwork and Professionalism: Ability to work in a team environment and present yourself in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education and Certification: Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician - MINIMUM BLOCK 3 COMPLETION.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move a maximum 50 lbs., (or in accordance with provincial workplace health & safety standards).
  • Training and Development: Willing and able to continue training.
  • Credentials: Clean Driver's abstract and Criminal Reference check.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows-based software.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in a Service environment.
