Printing Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Printing Technologist to join our team at Allcan Label. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our printing equipment, ensuring high-quality output and efficient production processes.

• Operate and maintain printing equipment, including web presses, flexographic presses, and offset presses.
• Prepare production schedules and review job orders to determine production time, colour sequence, and quantities required.
• Advise press crew on product specifications or material requirements and instruct apprentices on press operation and maintenance.
• Monitor regular press runs for quality using computer control consoles and remove and clean plates and cylinders at the end of press runs.
• Set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment and direct press crew to set up, operate, and shut down presses.

• 1-2 years of experience in printing or a related field.
• Knowledge of printing equipment and processes, including web presses, flexographic presses, and offset presses.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work overtime as required.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a commercial or in-house printing environment, with exposure to noise and odours. Steel-toed safety boots and earplugs are required.
