About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at Forbes Bros. Group of Companies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data to support our project initiatives across Eastern Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain GIS data related to transmission lines, including land use, topography, environmental factors, and infrastructure.
  • Data Analysis: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility, and create detailed maps and spatial analyses to support transmission line routing, design, planning, and construction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to integrate GIS data into design and construction processes, and communicate findings and analyses through reports, presentations, and visualizations to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Tool Development: Assist in the development, implementation of GIS-based project tracking, KPIs, and project analytic tools, and develop and maintain custom GIS tools and scripts to streamline workflows and enhance data analysis capabilities.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' related experience and experience with geodatabase topologies and parcel fabrics along with Online Web-based products and FME.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or successful completion of a diploma or degree in GIS/Geomatics from an institute of recognized standing and two years of related experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in mapping and analytics software platforms, as well as geospatial data integration tools and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, un Earthed), and experience with Survey123 and Python coding.
