Job Title: Specialist, Logistics

At Burnac Produce Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist, Logistics to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the import and export of perishable shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements with carriers in North America and abroad.
  • Track and trace shipments in transit, communicating estimated times of arrivals (ETAs) and unexpected events that may cause delays or early delivery.
  • Propose transportation routes for ocean, air, and over-the-road, taking into account intermodal or cross-docking alternatives.
  • Optimize routes for multiple pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Maintain and update database/system and controls with accurate information.
  • Ensure all documents comply with Customs regulations and government food authorities.
  • Produce and provide timely documentation for Customs clearance to prevent delays in delivery.
  • Monitor Customs releases and clearances for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Review and approve invoices related to freight and customs services.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 3 years of transportation experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility with work hours/days to support the operation is essential.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong detail orientation.
