Job Title: Lawyer Counsellor

The Lawyers Assistance Programme of British Columbia is seeking a skilled Lawyer Counsellor to provide confidential support and guidance to lawyers, their families, and staff. As a registered counsellor, psychologist, or social worker, you will possess empathy, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to further your education and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide counselling services to lawyers, their families, and staff.
  2. Develop and maintain a resource listing of referral services, including individual healthcare providers and treatment programs.
  3. Market the Lawyers Assistance Programme of BC throughout the province.
  4. Plan and present educational programs for the legal community on potential lawyer impairment, treatment, and prevention measures.
  5. Continuously update your knowledge and skills to provide the best possible support to our clients.

Requirements:

  • Empathy and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in providing counselling services, preferably with impaired professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the values and principles of the Lawyers Assistance Programme of BC.
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $75,000 to $110,000 per year.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including dental care, disability insurance, extended health care, and life insurance.
  • A hybrid remote work arrangement in Vancouver, BC.
