Electrical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Moncton, Canada. As an Electrical Engineer at Stantec, you will work on a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and specify electrical engineered systems or products for projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to achieve project success.
  • Develop designs using sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of building electrical systems.
  • Prepare and revise documentation, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Lead project coordination meetings and participate in client project requirement meetings.
  • Assist upper-level staff with project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule management.
  • Perform calculations using company-standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
  • Conduct field reviews to verify conformance with construction documents.
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead project tasks and activities.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, efficient, and effective communicator.
  • Comfortable in a client-facing position and in the field.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work with a single or multi-discipline team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with bilingualism (English and French) a major asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to check work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Intermediate or strong project management skills.
  • Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines and EH&S program.
  • Understanding of the importance of complying with Stantec's EH&S program.
  • Desire to be mentored by Senior staff and adapt to feedback as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in industrial/commercial/institutional electrical design, including electrical distribution design, communications, life safety, and lighting.
Education and Experience
  • An Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
  • Minimum of 8 years of applicable experience required.
  • Experience creating tender document packages, including detailed drawings and specifications.

Typical office environment with computer work and sedentary periods. Field work may involve exposure to inclement weather.
