Machine Learning Engineer for Payment Optimization

The Payment Intelligence TeamOur team is responsible for optimizing the billions of dollars in transactions processed by Stripe annually. We leverage machine learning to maximize successful transactions, minimize payment costs, and prevent fraud. Our work has a direct impact on the success of our customers and the global economy.
What You'll DoAs a Machine Learning Engineer on our team, you will design, build, and deploy machine learning models that drive business outcomes. You will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and ML platform infrastructure teams to develop and deploy cutting-edge ML solutions. Your work will focus on improving existing models and developing new ones to tackle complex business problems.
Responsibilities- Design and deploy new machine learning models using tools like Spark, Presto, XGBoost, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Improve existing ML models to protect millions of users from fraud.
- Develop new models for fraud detection and work with large payment datasets to find creative new methods of detecting and deterring fraudulent behavior.
- Propose new feature ideas and design real-time data pipelines to incorporate them into our models.
- Integrate new signals into ML pipelines, derive new ML features, and build workflows to make this process fast.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects and ensure engineering outcomes meet or exceed established standards of excellence.
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers to help them grow.
- Propose and implement innovative product ideas to reduce costs and combat fraud at Stripe.
We're seeking experienced machine learning engineers who have a proven track record of building and deploying ML systems that have effectively solved critical business problems. What We OfferAt Stripe, we offer a competitive salary range of $173,100 - $316,800, depending on location and experience. We also provide equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends. Our hybrid work model allows for flexibility between working from home and collaborating with colleagues in our offices or remote locations.
