Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Delta Hospital in Delta, BC. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit or within an outpatient intravenous (IV) setting.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertions to establish and/or maintain intravenous therapy.
  2. Assess patients receiving IV therapy, collect information from various sources, and make nursing diagnoses.
  3. Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care.
  4. Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan and encourage family participation.
  5. Participate in the care and discharge planning process for patients.
  6. Coordinate nursing care for patients, set priorities, assign and delegate tasks, and make referrals to the interprofessional care team.
  7. Teach patients and families/caregivers about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance.
  8. Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Advanced proficiencies in peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) insertions.

Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes as required.
