Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at NP Trucking. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. You will oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment. Your duties will also include performing emergency roadside repairs, performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and overseeing all aspects of the vehicle. You will also be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch, recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
