About the Role

The Occupational Therapist is a key member of the Rehabilitation Services team at Nova Scotia Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

You will provide consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up services while working within the hospital, client's home, and/or community. The successful candidate will establish individualized treatment plans and goals, manage a busy caseload, and use clinical judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize issues daily.

Requirements

  • Masters or Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, is mandatory
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other health care providers, and staff
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
  • Must be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

What We Offer

  • Permanent, Full-time positions; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Shifts include days and occasional weekends
  • Some travel between sites may be required

Compensation and Incentives

$33.97 - $42.89 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
