Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with expertise in fund taxation to join our team. As a key member of our Fund Tax Services department, you will be responsible for tax research, compliance, and analysis for our mutual fund trusts and segregated funds. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tax research and analysis for domestic and foreign compliance, mutual fund, and sales tax
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of fund tax department deliverables
  • Accurately calculate and oversee fund distributions and estimates
  • Complete and oversee tax filings, including provincial sales tax, fund tax factors, and Canadian income tax returns
  • Provide analysis for product initiatives, such as mergers, rebalancing, and ad hoc requests
  • Liaise with various parties, including administrators, CRA, external auditors, tax advisors, investment managers, product managers, and internal departments
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent
  • Accounting designation (CPA) or in process
  • Minimum 3 years of fund taxation experience and financial services industry/mutual fund experience
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills
  • Excellent tax research, tax preparation, and analytic skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing work as needed
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with departments across the organization
  • Desire to remain up to date with tax laws, regulations, and changes in the mutual fund industry
