Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Fuel Inspector to join our team at BWX Technologies. As a Nuclear Fuel Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of nuclear grade zirconium tube surfaces through ultrasonic testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasonic testing (UT) of nuclear grade zirconium tube surfaces to evaluate product quality and meet demanding tolerances.
- Accurately calibrate UT equipment, UT standards, and data entry, and complete report forms.
- Perform repetitive work with high effectiveness and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Learn to operate machines, equipment, and computers, and understand technical terminology and developments.
- Adhere to Job Safety Hazard Analysis, Federal Health & Safety Act & Regulations, and all Plant Safety Rules/Protocols.
- Identify safety issues and concerns, and take corrective action to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- CGSB UT Level 1 or Level 2 certification with a total of 400 hours in ultrasonic testing.
- Qualification to the BWX Technologies Arnprior SNT-TC-1A Written Program, and certification as an NDT Level 1.
- Knowledge of ultrasonic testing methods and successful completion of a practical examination administered by an NDT Level III.
- Grade 12 graduate with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Able to work 8-hour rotating shifts.
