We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm System Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a Fire Alarm System Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of people and property by conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life safety systems.

About the Role:

  • You will work with low voltage wiring and associated devices to ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop computer.
  • Make repairs with minimal supervision, providing technical training to other inspectors and trainees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of our team.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASTTBC/CFAA Certificate.
  • 2+ years documented experience in Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
  • Proficiency with using PCs, including working knowledge of MS Excel/Word and iPhone apps.
