Job Title: Mobile Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Equipment Operator to join our team at Lafarge Canada Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining mobile equipment, including excavators and wheel loaders, to feed the crushing plant in accordance with Lafarge's Best Practices and Policies. The position will also involve performing daily tasks, such as preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and repairs, to ensure the efficient operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently to feed the crushing plant.
  • Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on the crushing plant in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure the plant and surrounding site are kept safe, presentable, and functional.
  • Implement and maintain local and regional safety initiatives to promote a zero-safety-incidents culture.
  • Administer and promote safety policies, processes, and review procedures to ensure compliance with Lafarge and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience managing concrete rubble piles is an asset.
  • Industrial plant operation experience is an asset.
  • Industrial plant maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Requires heavy mobile equipment operation experience.
  • Valid "G" license is required.
  • Surface Miner Courses are an asset.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions. The position will also involve travel and overnight stays at the location of the crushing campaign.
