We are seeking an experienced caregiver to provide full-time evening care for a male quadriplegic patient. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to follow verbal direction from supervisors and read written procedures.
Responsibilities- Undressing the patient with care and attention to detail.
- Using a ceiling lift and sling to transfer the patient safely.
- Positioning the patient in the tub using provided positioners.
- Bathing the patient with compassion and understanding.
- Providing detailed skin care to prevent irritation and promote healing.
- Administering oxygen and managing equipment as needed.
- Cleaning the bathroom and doing laundry for the patient.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for learning and performing G-tube feeding, oral suction, and condom catheter care, which may require additional training and compensation. If proficient in these skills, the hourly rate will increase to $23 per hour.
Requirements and Qualifications- Experience working with physically disabled patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, are essential for effective communication.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to the patient's special needs.
Personal attributes that are highly valued include being non-smoking, having a 'can do' attitude, honesty, reliability, and a kind and caring approach to patient care. A police clearance with vulnerable sector search is required for hire.
