Job Title: Rebar Fabricator

At Allstar Rebar Nova Scotia Limited, we are seeking a skilled Rebar Fabricator to join our team. As a Rebar Fabricator, you will be responsible for operating machinery in our shop to move, cut, and bend reinforcing steel bars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate machinery to move, cut, and bend reinforcing steel bars
  • Shear reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths using a shearing machine
  • Bend steel bars using manual and computerized bender machines
  • Use an overhead crane to move and select material for fabrication or shipping
  • Load and unload materials from trucks
  • Tie rebar bundles together with wire for shipping
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and ensure work areas are organized
  • Assist other employees with machinery and tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • Must have own transportation, as public transportation is not available
  • Entry-level position with full training provided on machinery used in the shop
  • Ability to read and communicate in English at an intermediate level
  • Attention to detail and strong math skills required
  • Knowledge of basic measurements and ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Some heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Work is primarily indoors, with some outdoor work
  • Working conditions may be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold
  • Construction, manufacturing plant, or rebar tying experience is considered an asset
  • Overtime and shift work may be required
