As a Global Tax Compliance Specialist at Blackline Safety, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's tax obligations are met while providing strategic guidance to support business growth. Your expertise in tax planning, compliance, and reporting will drive accuracy and timeliness in our submissions, while your collaborative approach will foster strong relationships with senior leadership and external advisors.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
\
- Managing global tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Developing and implementing a global tax strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
- Collaborating with senior leadership on tax-efficient business structuring.
- Preparing and reviewing Canadian and International corporate tax returns and annual financial statement tax notes disclosure.
- Supervising and reviewing monthly, quarterly or annual tax remittances related to GST, HST, PST, USA sales and use tax, VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat etc.
- Assisting with international tax matters such as withholding taxes, information reporting returns/issues and transfer pricing.
- Assisting with global payroll taxes requirements.
- Performing tax research on specific tax issues or transactions as required and drafting memos outlining analysis, conclusion, and recommendations.
- Coordinating responses to income tax audits and sales tax audits with tax authorities.
- Collaborating with the finance team to ensure adherence to finance processes and controls, emphasizing continuous process improvements and gaining efficiencies through automation.
- Managing relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
- Remaining up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

What You'll Need:
\
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. CPA, MBA or relevant certification preferred. Completion of the CICA In-Depth tax course would be an asset.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a public mid-sized manufacturing/technology environment.
