About the Role

Fleming College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firefighter Technologist to support the Pre-Service Firefighter program at our Norwood campus. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the firehall and training areas used by the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair fire equipment and facilities to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Source and inventory program consumables, ensuring their availability to students and faculty.
  • Provide technical support as required and maintain accurate records for the program.
  • Collaborate with the program coordinator to plan and facilitate the operation of the firehall and training areas.
Requirements
  • 2-year Diploma in Pre-Service Firefighters or other relevant fire prevention programs.
  • NFPA 1001 and 1072 Certified Firefighter (or retired) with experience in firefighting and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with MS Excel and other computer software programs.
  • Knowledge of OHSA and safe work practices related to working with tools and equipment in a laboratory setting or as a firefighter.
