BIM & VDC Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM & VDC Specialist to join our team at GPAC, a leading search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and assisting in the development of BIM models, identifying interferences with architectural, structural, and other MEP elements, and coordinating mechanical/plumbing models with other trade professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage BIM models of HVAC duct, piping, and plumbing, and other areas of mechanical construction
  • Identify and resolve interferences with architectural, structural, and other MEP elements
  • Coordinate mechanical/plumbing models with other trade professionals
  • Produce details/drawings that comply with design criteria, contract requirements, and applicable code
  • Maintain a safe work attitude and encourage the safety of others, especially when present at construction sites
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC
  • Basic ability to interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, construction standards, layouts, and job-specific requirements
  • Understanding and interpreting architectural and structural details as they affect the MEP installations
  • A working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, NavisWorks, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Familiarization with applicable Plumbing and Mechanical building codes and safety laws
