Job Summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Lineup Editor to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality news content to our audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line up and read the radio news on weekdays
  • Vet radio copy to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Conduct interviews and research to stay up-to-date on current events
  • Present news headlines and updates in an interactive way on our morning current affairs radio show
  • Chase breaking news and assign reporters to cover stories
  • Vet digital copy to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Host radio news specials in the event of big breaking news
  • Pitch original story ideas and angles to enhance our coverage
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in journalism or a related field
  • Five years of experience in journalism or a related field
  • Extensive general knowledge and in-depth knowledge of current events
  • Strong understanding of Quebec's diverse and underrepresented communities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent reporting, interviewing, and writing skills
  • Engaging on-air presence and live broadcasting skills
  • Thorough knowledge of logistics in an integrated, mobile-first newsroom
  • Fluency in English and comprehensive knowledge of French
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices
