Your Opportunity:
Description:
As a Service Worker I at Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital sites. Your primary responsibility will be to transport patients, clients, and residents to and from different patient care areas, as well as distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units. You will also be responsible for cleaning equipment and patient care areas as directed. Additionally, you may be required to transport lab specimens, blood, and blood products, as well as patient charts. If you have concerns regarding supplies or safety issues, you will report them to Unit Managers. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent is a must.
Additional Required Qualifications:
CPR/BLS Training is a necessity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Service Worker and in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset. Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Infection Control is also beneficial. You should be able to lift 15-20 lbs. overhead, push patients in stretchers up to 200+ lbs., and push patients in wheelchairs up to 300 lbs. Multitasking and self-direction are essential skills for this role. Availability to work day or evening shifts is required. Completed CC Rover training is an asset.
