Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure mechanical systems designs comply with classification and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate the work to obtain system certification for design and build of vessel.
  • Provide day-to-day support for other vessel design and analysis activities.
  • Supervise others' work and perform quality control checks on project deliverables.
  • Support Naval Architecture and Mechanical Engineering activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with marine industry developments, standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Represent Blumara at industry events, conferences, and meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain a productive work environment based on mutual trust and respect while performing all work safely and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
  • Registered PEng (desirable).
  • Familiarity with ship-based mechanical systems design and operation.
  • Experience working on DND projects.
  • Knowledge of Classification Society Rules and Transport Canada Regulations.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with contractors and consultants.
  • Must obtain relevant Canadian Security Clearances before commencing employment.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
