We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Polka Dot Fine Art & Education. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes synthesizing the overall situation of the children and communicating with parents, leading activities, and encouraging creativity through various media.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate with parents.
- Lead activities, including telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
- Encourage children to express creativity through various media, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
- Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Establish guidelines for behavior and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
- Experience an asset.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
