Heavy Goods Transport Operator

Job Summary:
Hancock Petroleum Inc. is seeking a Heavy Goods Transport Operator to join our team. This role involves driving lighter, special purpose trucks, loading and unloading goods, operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide professional customer service by interacting with clients in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Transportation: Drive lighter, special purpose trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and collection.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from vehicles, taking care to handle them safely and efficiently.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect the vehicle's tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Dangerous Goods: Transport and handle dangerous goods safely and in accordance with regulations.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
- Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
- First Aid Certificate
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Documentation Knowledge:
- Accident or incident reports
- Bill of lading
- Dangerous goods occurrence reports
- Driver logbook
- Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
- Maintenance and repair reports
- Transportation Experience:
- Liquid bulk
- Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles)

- Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is approximately $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include dental plan, health care plan, vision care benefits, life insurance, long-term care insurance, and a wellness program.
