We are seeking a reliable and professional Security Guard to join our team at a university in St. Catharines. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients, tenants, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols to detect and prevent potential security threats
  • Lock and unlock doors, and assist staff and students on campus as needed
  • Provide access control, security escorts, and respond to service calls and incidents
  • Conduct property inspections and enforce property laws, client rules, and regulations
  • Assist in emergency situations, provide first aid, and intervene as necessary
  • Interact with students, visitors, and the public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain social distancing and detect, challenge, and displace unwanted individuals
  • Evacuate the building in case of emergency
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment through teamwork

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled or completed Police Foundation or equivalent education (asset)
  • Pursuing a career in law enforcement (asset)
  • 4 years of secondary education or Diploma Certificate
  • Previous experience in the security industry
  • Valid Provincial Security Guard license
  • Valid G/G-2 license and clean abstract
  • Valid First Aid and CPR C, AED certification
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Vulnerable Sector Check Clearance required
