Job Title: Student Nurse Extern

Humber River Health is seeking exceptional individuals to join our team as Student Nurse Externs. As a Student Nurse Extern, you will provide direct personal support to patients in our 8 East Respirology Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic care needs for up to 10 patients each, including activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses, adhering to department policies and procedures.
  • Document activities of daily living, such as intake and output, and relevant communication for patients.
  • Immediately report any clinical concerns to your direct supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in years 2-4 of a nursing program of studies.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and provide basic assistive care with frequent supervision and ongoing mentoring.
  • Mandatory compliance with HRH training requirements, including Privacy & Confidentiality, WHMIS, Fire & Safety, and hand hygiene modules.
