Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of our databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support mission-critical applications to ensure database integrity and security.
  • Troubleshoot database errors and fix system issues through periodic testing, help desk tickets, and other methods.
  • Identify and fix data inconsistencies based on specified criteria.
  • Collaborate with other IT and operational staff to ensure database performance and ongoing integrity.
  • Provide technical support during other projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • 5 years of experience as a database administrator.
  • 5 years of proven working experience in Microsoft SQL Server technology (SQL Server Management Studio, queries, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of data manipulation languages, data definition languages, physical database design, and application performance analysis & tuning.
  • Strong documentation, written and verbal communication skills.
