About the Role

We are seeking a Commercial Director to join our team in Vancouver and surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with experience in commercial management, business development, and risk assessment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and selecting business opportunities, reviewing tenders, negotiating contracts, and evaluating project performance.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, legal affairs, finance, and health and safety, to ensure seamless project delivery.

As a key member of our commercial network, you will represent the Senior Director in the Vancouver office and collaborate on commercial governance updates and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selecting and prioritizing business opportunities for major projects
  • Reviewing and approving bids, negotiations, and contract management
  • Evaluating project performance and strategy from a commercial and risk perspective
  • Collaborating with commercial resources on change management, claims prevention, and key performance indicators
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Finance, Law, or a related field
  • More than 10 years of experience in supporting engineering projects, including opportunity selection, partnerships, bids, contract negotiations, project delivery, commercial management, change management, claims, and governance
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and mediating complex problems
  • Risk management skills, including identifying, qualifying, quantifying, managing, and mitigating risks in major projects
  • Knowledge of various procurement models and major project execution, including PPP, collaborative models, alliances, progressive design-build, EPCM, and EPC
