Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.
Key Responsibilities- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality veterinary care to pets.
- Advocate for pets and educate clients on all aspects of pet health.
- Ensure a safe and effective hospital environment.
- Perform or prepare procedures that do not require veterinarian or veterinary technician assistance.
- Monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed in the state practice acts.
- Assist with surgery as applicable.
- Mentor other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
- Client service skills and ability to provide attentive, courteous, and informative service.
- Intellectual ability and ability to accurately and consistently follow instructions.
- Mathematical ability and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Computer skills and ability to use a computer and specialized medical software.
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to be confident around pets.
- Client needs and work volume may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties.
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability.
