About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our physiotherapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and monitor physiotherapy treatment to patients/residents.
- Delegates components of treatment to Assistants/Aides by instructing, observing, and monitoring treatment provided to ensure quality patient/resident care.
- Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to facility staff, patients/residents, and families by methods such as modeling, making presentations, and acting as a resource to staff, patients/residents, and/or families.
- Maintains patient/resident records, clinical outcome measures, and statistical data in accordance with department, facility, and professional standards.
- Participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of the physiotherapy service by providing input and feedback to the Professional Practice Chief/Professional Practice Leader, Physiotherapy regarding philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and risk management.
- Participates in interdisciplinary, departmental, and professional development to ensure awareness of current developments of evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
- Provides instruction, feedback, and supervision to students as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved program in Physiotherapy.
- Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
- Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).
- Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and treat diversity of conditions commonly seen in the relevant area of practice.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in a complex health care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Skill in the use of equipment and in the techniques appropriate physical therapy treatment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia standards for practice of physical therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict situations.
