Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Switcher-1 Operator to join our team at FedEx. As a Switcher-1 Operator, you will be responsible for the movement of trailers to and from the unload/load doors and throughout the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move trailers to and from the unload/load doors and throughout the yard.
  • Load and unload packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor system carts, and load gratings.
  • Utilize hand-to-surface methods for all package handling.
  • Determine the appropriate conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers, and memorizing information.
  • Sort packages accordingly.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Six months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.
  • In the province of Quebec, bilingual (French and English) is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity.
  • Work in a warehouse or yard environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Work a variable schedule, including AM shifts, Monday to Friday.
