Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking a skilled Apprentice Pipefitter to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for laying out, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lays out and assembles piping systems to required specifications
  • Measures, cuts, and threads pipe to required dimensions using hand and power tools
  • Tack, welds, and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
  • Installs supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Tests system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems
  • Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems
  • Applies knowledge and skills learned from coaches and mentors to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program

Requirements

  • Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
  • Be a registered apprentice
  • Motivated and willing to learn
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required, upon hire, to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement
