We are a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and supporting our culinary team in preparing and serving delicious meals to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Place dishes in storage areas and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, appliances, and work surfaces.
    • Handle and store cleaning products safely and efficiently.
  • Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and maintain a clean and organized storage area.
  • Team Support
    • Assist the culinary team in preparing and serving meals during peak periods.
    • Support the kitchen team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • Experience an asset, but not necessary.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and attention to detail.
    • Physically demanding, with a focus on lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
    • Reliability, dependability, and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
