About the Job:

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Roofing Apprentice to join our team. As a Roofing Apprentice, you will assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing various types of roofing systems, including asphalt shingles, wood shingles, and metal roofs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
  • Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Help repair or replace single-ply roofing systems.
  • Assist in instructing apprentices.
  • Help install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the roofing trade.
  • Excellent physical stamina, as the job requires working at heights, in noisy environments, and outdoors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, and reliability are essential.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic.
