Job Summary:The Department of Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to build on our strengths in the field of materials processing. This position is part of the University's President's Academic Excellence Initiative within the Faculty of Applied Science.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program in materials engineering, with a focus on sustainable materials processing.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in materials engineering and related fields.
- Supervise graduate students at the Masters and Doctoral levels.
- Provide service to the University and the broader community, including participation in departmental and faculty committees.
- Ph.D. in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated track record of research and teaching excellence.
- Strong background in materials engineering and a demonstrated ability to develop an independent research program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive salary range of $120,000 - $130,000 per annum, plus benefits.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.

- A dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
