Join the BC Public Service Agency in a challenging and rewarding role as an Ecosystems Biologist. This position offers the chance to contribute to meaningful conservation initiatives focused on ecosystem health and species at risk recovery.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Professional Biologist (RPBio) to lead and support projects ensuring sustainable land use and biodiversity management across diverse landscapes. The successful candidate will be part of the Land Use Planning and Cumulative Effects - South, Ecosystems Team, a collaborative group dedicated to conserving and restoring ecosystems across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide science and technical advice to managers mediating solutions and making decisions in natural resource management
  • Lead and support projects on ecosystem stewardship, including inventories, surveys, monitoring, and habitat assessments
  • Develop and implement recovery initiatives for provincial and federal species at risk
  • Build and maintain relationships with First Nations and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collaboration
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences, plus three years of related experience, or a Master of Science or higher in biological sciences, plus one year of related experience
  • Registration or immediate eligibility for registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) with the College of Applied Biology (CAB)
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • A valid B.C. driver's license and ability to conduct field work in various weather conditions
