Job Title: Store Associate

Job Summary:

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Store Associate to join our team in Gatineau. As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the sales team in achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the checkout area and merchandise displays
  • Support the sales team in achieving sales goals, including replenishing merchandise and completing markdowns
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols and loss prevention best practices

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

  • Stand and/or walk
  • Bend, twist, and squat
  • Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.)
  • Perform tasks involving firm grasping
  • Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
  • Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
  • Operate equipment, including using a ladder

Keyholder Premium:

As a Keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, ensuring all areas are tidy and secure, and completing end-of-shift tasks. You will also be responsible for starting up registers, unlocking and disabling the alarm, and receiving deliveries.

As a Giant Tiger employee, you will be expected to:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service
  • Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
  • Ensure Loss prevention best practices are followed
  • Ensure compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery
