Job Summary

Vapor Power, a leading manufacturer of premium quality Steam Generators and Thermal Fluid Heaters, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to our customers, ensuring the smooth operation of our products in various industrial and marine processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform New Unit Start-ups: Conduct on-site start-ups of new Vapor Power steam generators and thermal fluid heaters at customer locations nationwide and worldwide.
  • Troubleshoot Controls and Circuits: Assist customers and service technicians with troubleshooting of controls and circuits to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide Field Service Support: Offer on-site technical support to customers at their locations on Vapor Power steam generators and thermal fluid heaters.
  • Conduct Burner Combustion Testing: Perform burner combustion and operation testing on production units at the factory prior to shipping.
  • Phone Support: Provide phone support to customers when assistance is needed.
  • Technical Documentation: Write technical documents and descriptions of the operation of electrical circuits, including electrical system descriptions and operating instructions for customer instruction manuals.
  • Other Job Duties: Perform other job duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
  • Experience with PLC and HMI Devices: 3 years of experience with writing, loading, editing, and troubleshooting programs for PLC controllers and HMI devices, preferably using RS Logix500.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent electrical and mechanical trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams and piping diagrams.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems Experience: Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and devices, as well as servicing boilers, burners, and steam generating equipment.
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing or walking, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times and access all areas in the facility and machinery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering Technology Degree: B.S. or A.S. degree in an Engineering Technology field, or equivalent/related military training focusing on servicing hydraulic and pneumatic systems and devices, combined with electrical troubleshooting.
