We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mortgage Specialist to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our sales and service team, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate and Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of referral sources, including realtors, lawyers, and other industry professionals, to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
- Identify Sales Opportunities: Actively search for sales opportunities to achieve individual sales and profitability goals, and refer to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
- Develop and Execute Marketing Programs: Develop and execute effective marketing and sales programs to drive business results, including targeted marketing initiatives and promotions.
- Provide Customer Service: Serve as a customer advocate during application and processing activities, providing exceptional customer service that builds trust through expertise, responsive service, and support.
- Collaborate with Branch Teams: Partner with branch teams to properly hand off customers to finalize mortgage documentation, and resolve or escalate issues to meet customer expectations.
- Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Developments: Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in mortgage lending, and apply this knowledge to drive business results.
- Experience: Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or a related field, with a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, as well as excellent interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Specialized Knowledge: Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience, including verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and influence skills.
