Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Placement Professional to join our team at Teck Resources Limited. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in insurance placements and risk management to drive business growth and success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in P&C insurance, with a proven track record of managing global insurance portfolios and negotiating complex insurance deals. They will be responsible for preparing underwriter submissions, placing insurance coverages, and providing risk management education and training to operational and management level professionals within the organization.

This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual who can prioritize tasks effectively and respond to urgent matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company's global insurance portfolio, including policy renewals, claims, and captive placements
  • Negotiate and place various domestic and multinational insurance programs
  • Prepare underwriter marketing submissions for all lines of coverage
  • Review insurance policies to ensure accuracy and completeness of coverage and policy documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management or a relevant field
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in corporate P&C insurance
  • Sophisticated knowledge of insurance coverages, terms, and fundamentals
