Software Development Co-op Opportunity

Lumerate, a Toronto-based SaaS company, is seeking a talented software development co-op student to join our team. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, working on real-world projects and collaborating with our experienced team.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our software development team. As a co-op student, you will be responsible for:
- Writing production code and contributing to the development of our customer-facing Rails application
- Mentorship from our engineering team to create innovative solutions to challenging problems
- Maintaining the data infrastructure used by Lumerate's products
- Ensuring the appropriate degree of rigor in testing is maintained
- Investigating new technological approaches and proposing pragmatic solutions that will scale to the requirements of the business
Our Tech Stack
We use a variety of technologies, including Ruby on Rails, Javascript, ReactJS, Linux, ElasticSearch, Docker, NoSQL, and PostgreSQL. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to work with these technologies and gain hands-on experience.
About You
We are looking for a co-op student who is:
- Enrolled in their 3rd or 4th year of a Software Engineering or Computer Science program
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have otherwise obtained the appropriate visa/permissions to work as a co-op student in Canada
- Detail-oriented and enjoys puzzles
- Experienced with Ruby on Rails or other MVC frameworks (a bonus)
- Willing to make a minimum 8-month commitment to us
- Thrives as part of a team, but is also comfortable with self-directed learning
